Section Eight - Relationship Churches

Love the Lord your God:

Jesus was asked by a lawyer in; Matthew Chapter 23 verses 36 – 40:

Master, which is the great commandment of the law? Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor and thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Can you look at your life and compare it with the verses above? How are we to have a right standing with Father God if we miss this? Are our churches focused on the above verses or are our churches more interested in programs than with what Father wants. If true worshipers worship in spirit and in truth; should we interrupt our time with the Lord with a list full of announcements? Wouldn’t it be awesome if you would show up to church on Sunday and before you start to worship, ask the Father how He would like to be worshiped that day and then do it?

I have experienced many times, worship services that do exactly that; ask the Father how He would like to be worshiped. You start by being in prayer prior to your service, and then ask the Father to join you in worship and wait on Him to direct it. You will become quickly addicted to how the Holy Spirit directs your service and you will not want to leave.

Apostle Harvey explains it this way; “Our focus, His presence!” I know the Lord says the same to me; “His focus, my presence!” The Father likes it when I show up too!

It is not about the numbers of people that show up on Sundays, but the hearts that show up for worship. Since the Lord looks only upon the hearts of man, I would safely assume that just getting to church is a start. I have had more arguments and stinkin’ thinking going on in my heart prior to getting to church on some Sundays to know that the Lord would have preferred me to stay out in the parking lot getting right with him before putting on my church face in front of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Remembering that worship is essential to our spiritual growth and is also an area the Devil hates, I have concluded in my spirit that showing up is half the battle. I have always found myself leaving worship a whole lot better than when I got there. You see, we must move beyond worship as a religious requirement but as an act of love toward our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. Since our salvation is based upon a relationship with God it behooves us not to make a religion out of it. True and pure religion is this, James Chapter 1 verse 27:

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

I must conclude anything else which is called religious in nature is not of God. Your extra curriculum and fancy forms of sacraments are not considered pure religion. Quite frankly, I believe it may even bore God. What God is looking for are those who can worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Let’s look at the Word found in the book of John Chapter 4 verse 23:

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

When you have been restored and can humble yourself as a child, you will find it easier to worship Him. Relationship worship is so refreshing and very rewarding. It is so nice to be in a place where the Holy Spirit is free to express Himself and touch lives in a very powerful and dramatic way. Many people have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. I can honestly say that I too at one time or another put on airs as if I was a, live Christian but really I was dead. Just like the Church of Sardis in the book of Revelations Chapter 3 verse 1:

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Without a true relationship with our God, we are a bunch of empty vessels; you might look good on the outside but dark and empty on the inside.

Climbing up on Daddy’s lap:

Learning to crawl right up on Father God’s lap and lean against His big chest is a great experience and one I eagerly look forward to after a long day. Apostle Harvey Hampton has had years of experience in this area. He is quite an intense minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has been quoted several times saying; “I just want to charge Hell with a squirt gun!” And yet, I just love how he has such a child like heart when it comes to the Father; boldness for the Gospel but meekness and humility in relation to his love for our God. Isn’t this all about Him anyways? Are we not accepted and chosen by Him? Can anything remove us from His hand? This is why we need to know Him; to understand our Jesus, our Father and our Holy Spirit. I can not live without Him and don’t want to.

I pray you have been blessed by this study and it is my earnest prayer that you become totally restored to your proper place and position in the Body of Christ. We have a lot of work to be done before our Lord Jesus returns. Our focus has to be on the end goal and that is going home to Glory; to live eternally with our Creator, Lord and Savior. We are to advance His Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven. Let us learn to not be offended by those the devil is deceiving and learn to bind that which is evil and loose our offenders so that their eyes, ears, and hearts may become open to the truth of perfect love, Jesus our Messiah.

May you learn to truly worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth! This will change your whole perspective on your existence and reason for being here in the first place. Go ahead climb right up on the Fathers’ lap; you don’t have to ever get down. Hang out with the Holy Spirit; He really is a lot of fun once you get to know Him. And most importantly, Love your Jesus by doing the first works of Christ. He is going to ask you a very important question when you stand before him one day, and that is; “Did you learn to love, as I loved you? “Did you learn to forgive others as I forgave you?”
